HOW DATA OPERATES

A Board of Trustees governs the Digital Arts Charter Academy. Board members bear the ultimate responsibility for the school, although the day-to-day operation of the school is delegated to

the Chief Operating Officer Evalynne Hunemuller who appoints the Principal, teachers and other staff. The DATA Board currently consists of the

Chaiperson, Mr. Al Sanchez, Secretary, Esther Marquez, and Members Dan Ashcraft, Judy Jennings and Ron Williams. The Board meets monthly and oversees the academic and financial direction of the school. Membership on the Board is renewed annually.

About DATA

Welcome to the Digital Arts and Technology Academy website

Our school’s main emphasis is providing a successful academic experience for every student.  We promise to provide small classes and great teachers who focus on  individual needs and strengths of every learner in their classroom. DATA also provides the opportunity to accelerate or remediate a student’s program through the use of E-20-20 online instruction.   Through our electives,  students can explore the world of film, architecture, animation, desktop publishing, Microsoft office skills, and many other courses with a focus on film and media arts.

I would like to emphasize to our readers the opportunities we provide in an arena that is beneficial to our students. The film industry in New Mexico and in Albuquerque is beginning to boom, and there is a rapidly growing demand for qualified employees to work as film technicians and in other careers in the movie industry. We are working closely with CNM to align our programs for articulated credit. This means our students will have the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit for selected elective courses at DATA.

DATA Principal Lisa Myrhe

Although our curricular context will be around the film and media arts pathway, it is not our intent to track students for careers exclusively in this area. Our courses will feature problem solving skills, collaboration, work site etiquette, reading for information, business writing, and testing academic theories through real world experience, which are skills that are applicable to all careers and interests.

DATA provides exciting opportunities for students in grades 9 – 12. If you are looking for something different, and you want more from your high school experience, begin that future at DATA.

Welcome to DATA! We look forward to meeting you.

Lisa Myhre

Principal
